RED Tour Manila

I have waited for years. Yes. I have been a Swiftie fan since 2009. I remember listening to her songs on the radio while singing it loudly in the whole summer of 2009. There was really nothing for me to do during those times. I spend my day reading novels, watching tv and listening to a radio program. It was a fine summer time with her songs.

Taylor Swift performs her Red Tour Concert Manila at SM MOA last June 6, 2014

So, last June 6, 2014 Taylor Swift stormed Manila with her Red Tour Concert. I was glad I was able to buy the ticket on the first hour of the release date. I remember hurrying to get to the top 10 people to buy the tickets at SM Cebu together with my friends who are also Swifties. I didn’t really expect to get one since we lost hope when it was already February and we still haven’t heard any Philippines RED concert. We actually planned this since 2013, to save money to buy a convenient seat where we can see Taylor closely while performing so we could sing and dance with her together.Good thing was that a friend of mine helped me buy the ticket in return I worked for him. It was worth it. I mean it’s Taylor Swift, the queen herself. Who would want to miss that?

Finally, June came and we are all so excited. From choosing what to wear to the concert, the place where we can stay, the shoes and even the concert banners. Yes. It is a must when you go to concerts, right?, especially Taylor Swift’s RED Tour, I mean , come on.

Below are some pictures of what we had posted to our social media sites.

Red Tour ticket, glow-in-the-dark pen, whiteand red stripe polo and three Selecta Cornetto lids, since I won two upper box tickets aside from the ticket I bought

My glow in the dark banner. :)

I also grabbed some of my friends photos.

After couple of days of having trouble sleeping coz it’s 6 more days to go before the big event, I started to create a banner to show and send Taylor a message.

Fast forward and it’s concert day. June 6, 2014. One of the dates I will never forget. Well, Taylor’s songs really made a very big impact in my life. Her songs has really touched and described what I felt during those times. We all had heartbreaks and unrequited love and excitement, thrill and all the other emotions we feel when we are in love. It’s like the color red, just like what she says.

Just can’t hide the excitement. An usie while inside Airsia.

We don't want to miss to have a group pic with the Taylor Swift plane by AirAsia.

We really just can’t hide the excitement of seeing her live and singing with her. After we landed at Manila, we took couple of shots with Taylor Swift herself. I mean her cartoon version.

Coz we just don't want to miss the fun and it's RED and Taylor Swift Day.

We’re at SM MOA arena and the crowd is growing. Swifties are coming from all over the Philippines. Last time Taylor had a concert in the Philippines was the Speak Now World Tour concert. Sadly, I was not able to come. So I promised myself to see her no matter what. I just appreciate how Swifties had shown their support and love for Taylor. Words really can’t explain.

Awesome Swifties everywhere.

Awesome Swifties everywhere.

The crowd was amazing. I believe the SM MOA can accommodate almost 16,000. Imagine that. Cool hats and headbands everywhere. Taylor Swift’s song lines printed everywhere, from t-shirts, banners, to ballers and glow-in-the-dark sticks. Sponsors were there too to support Taylor. Good thing was, I won two upper tickets from Selecta Cornetto. Eating those icecream while I am lactose intolerant really paid off, right? How I wish it was a VIP ticket so I could see her closer that ever.

So, it’s few hours before the concert and everyone was excited. You can literally see it from their faces.

Can't wait till the gates are open.

Can’t wait till the gates are open.

It’s 6:30pm and the people are slowly allowed to enter the arena. The excitement just keeps getting better and better. I am definitely having butterflies in my stomach right now as we slowly move closer to the entrance. This is it. The night we have been waiting for. Those lonely nights while playing the same playlist are almost over. We can finally sing and dance with her as we shout “I don’t know about you But I’m feeling 22.”

Right in front of us is the portal to the RED world. Just when everything is all set and we’re all excited, something wrong happens. Our ticket was not accepted by the machine. So we waited for 3 minutes feeling all disappointed, kind of angry why did this happen to us.

The moment when you feel like crying coz the machine wont accept your ticket.

The moment when you feel like crying coz the machine wont accept your ticket.

Fortunately, they were able to validate our ticket. That was really close to tearing our dreams in front of us. Wheew. Glad it did not happen that night.  We are now in the stadium feeling like a fan girl and getting amazed by the crowd.

Coz we're 22 and we don't know about you.

Coz we’re 22 and we don’t know about you.

The Red Tour stadium at flesh. We are glad we were not late, imagine if our flight got delayed by some storm or technical problem or if we lost our tickets and were left crying outside the arena. That would have been so heartbreaking and saddest moment.

I said, "Oh my, what a marvelous tune" It was the best night, never would forget how we moved.

Everything is all set up, we’re already in, the banner is ready, the lights and the loud crowd is amazing. This moment is unforgettable. It’s a dream come true for all of us here Pinoy Swifties, since we are thousand miles away from seeing her in the states. It just so fantastic how all these people coming and wanting to watch her. You can definitely see the support and love from the fans. She has been one of the most amazing role model and artist of her generation. She is known for writing a song about her past relationships and boys linked to her. I say, that’s not just it. It’s about the expression of her experiences with the emotions she felt and still feel, all wrapped up in a poetry combined with the melodies only her can compose.

She has made histories. Her name is everywhere. She is an influence and an inspiration, not only because of her music, but also in giving the love back to the fans, to the community and to the world. She is one remarkable person out there that could last a long time.

So the red curtain is down and it’s a state of grace. The opening was so heart-exploding. Please watch the video below to experience what it was like. We didn’t have the awesome resolution, so I pick one at youtube, credits to the uploader.

I was screaming. Just screaming until not sound came out from my mouth. I can’t explain the feeling of waiting for years and there it is now, in front of you, with such amazing loud crowd. If there’s a word better than ecstatic. It is like the color red.

Here is another clip taken by my friend. The infamous “I knew you were trouble”. This part my hear was beating like a drum with the drumming and dancing.

Taylor sang a couple of songs from her Red album and a few ones from Speak Now and Fearless albums.

It seems like one of those nights,We ditch the whole scene and end up dreaming instead of sleeping. Tonight’s the night when we forget about the heartbreaks. Few lines from her song 22.

It was so much better when she performed on the other stage. She was so near I can see her looking at my banner that says “We could get married have ten kids and teach them how to dream.” A line from Starlight. I knew she saw it and stared at it for a couple of seconds. I knew from the beginning that she’s not singing Starlight which is really disappointing coz it’s such a good song to dance and it suits the mood. Dancing and singing all night like starlight.

I said, “Oh my, what a marvelous tune” It was the best night, never would forget how we moved. Just the perfect line for the night.

She is so near I can barely touch her.

She is so near I can barely touch her.

We were also surprised when she greeted us in Tagalog. Isn’t she adorable? Check the video below.

Lastly, the concert ended with her famous song “We are never ever getting back together”. It is so sad to see her go just when everything was doing great. It seemed like I don’t want the night to end. I still wanted her to sing and dance with her.

Just like any other concert, sadly, it has to end with a bam. We are getting back together Taylor, see you soon on your next world concert tour.

And for some awesome surprise. We caught ourselves in national television.

While waiting for the concert. Some paparazzi took a video of us.

See our one second ride to fame via this link. Once again, we felt RED by singing and dancing with her. It was truly an unforgettable experience.
